The First United Methodist Church in Jefferson will host an afternoon of music followed by an ice cream social Sunday, June 25, at the church at 307 S. Wilson.
The music begins at 4 pm with a varied program that includes vocalists, guitar and violin music, piano and organ, the Methodist church choir and the Greene County Singers.
A quartet composed of Jean and Don Van Gilder, Joan St Clair and Sam Harding will open the program. Daniel Harding and Bri Levandowski will sing a duet, Sherri Sloan and Deloris Anderson will play a piano and organ duet, and Gary Haupert and Jim Barnett will sing solos. Pastor Julie Poulsen’s musically-gifted relatives will perform, with her nephew Steffen Poulsen singing, her nephew Christopher and her brother Jamie playing the piano, and her niece Elise playing the violin.
After the music, from 5 to 6:30 pm, all are invited to an ice cream social in the Fellowship Hall. Homemade ice cream is the headliner, with pie and cake and beefburgers in supporting roles. A free will donation will be accepted for the ice cream social. Carry-outs will be available.
